Mai Niemi is a Finnish fashion designer born in Kokkola, which is a finnish fashion industry town on the west coast of Finland by the Gulf of Bothnia. She has graduated with a B.A. degree from the Central St.Martin's School of Arts in London and became Fengshui consultant from the European School of Fengshui.
Mai Niemi worked for a few years as an industrial designer and when her first child was born she designed children´s knitwear in her first own company. She opened the first Designer´s Shop in Finland with a couple of other designers in 1987. The same time Bliss Design Knitwear was born. In 2000 she launched the first Fengshui Knitwear collection when she started her Flow Design Studio, Mai Niemi Design House, which offers holistic fengshui design services and energy knitwear under the label BLISS and The Knitwear Kalevala.
